The Department is one of the earliest Computer Science Departments started in the Balapur Taluka Dist-Akola. The Department of Computer Science [DoCS] was established to meet the demand for well-qualified computer professionals in the year 2000. The Department offers Undergraduate and Post Graduate courses in Computer Science Subject. The program focuses on theoretical computer science development. Initially, three-year degree programmer was started with Computer Science as one of the major subjects, with Physics and Mathematics. The Postgraduate Degree Programmes M.Sc. in Computer Science was launched in 2008.
